Conducting
Alongside his international career as a pianist and composer, Vassilis Tsabropoulos has developed a significant body of work as a conductor, bringing to the podium his extensive knowledge of the symphonic repertoire and his distinctive understanding of musical form and interpretation.
At the centre of his conducting activity stands the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra of Athens, which he founded in 2014 and has led as its Artistic Director and conductor. Under his direction, the orchestra has presented symphonic and vocal works in major cultural venues, including the Athens Concert Hall and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
Tsabropoulos has also conducted the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the ERT National Symphony Orchestra. In selected orchestral projects, he has combined the roles of conductor and piano soloist, creating performances shaped by a unified interpretative vision from the podium and the keyboard.
His wider orchestral career includes collaborations as a soloist with internationally distinguished ensembles, among them the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
